From Farm to Fork

Feed mills play an important role in guiding their customers in making nutritional choices and helping them to implement on-farm. Over the coming year there are two key areas in which feed manufactures have identified as ‘hot topics’; the use of antibiotics and zinc oxide in pork production.*

Pork producers will be looking for solutions to help them reduce their reliance on antibiotics and therapeutic zinc whilst maintaining the health and growth of their piglets, that’s where Neopigg® Shield can help.

*In recent survey, conducted by Cargill at a customer seminar held in March 2017, Cargill’s top 20 feed manufacturers indicated that antibiotic and zinc oxide are the topics which will be of the most importance over the coming year.

Post-weaning piglet diarrhea

The post-weaning stage is a very important stage for piglets. A bad start in this phase of the piglet’s life will impact the growth performance in all of the other life stages. One of the common problems during the post-weaning stage is diarrhea, which has a major impact on their health and growth performance. Neopigg® Shield can support the reduction of post-weaning diarrhea.

Neopigg® Shield is a 3-stage feeding concept after weaning for piglets until the weight of 25-30 kg. Through increasing gut health in the early life stage, Neopigg® Shield can reduce the reliance on the use of antibiotics and therapeutic zinc, whilst maintaining growth performance throughout the piglet’s life.
